Weber Performer Storage, Work Surface, and Cleaning System
You get plenty of work space and storage with this offering from Weber grills. The Performer comes equipped with three built-in tool holders, a good sized plastic work surface, and a lid catcher to hold the cover when it gets hot.
There is also a nice storage rack underneath the grill as well as a useful charcoal bin that can accomodate about 20 pounds of dry charcoal protecting it from rain and such. This Weber performer model allows you to get to the charcoal bin without having to lift up the work surface, which is an added plus. Lastly, the removable ash catcher also makes clean up fast and easy.
Note: it is possible to hook the gas assist ignition up to a standard propane tank (as pictured above).
Some reviewers of this Weber Performer grill weren’t happy with the fact that Weber replaced some of their signature metal handles with plastic ones. They also feel that the price is a bit high. In such cases, it might be best to move down to the Weber One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, though you’ll lose the coal bin storage and work surface offered by this model.
