Ribs on the Ridge 2011 – Haines City, FL BBQ at its Best

Get ready for this year’s Haines City, FL Ribs on the Ridge BBQ Cook-Off sponsord by Brighthouse Networks, Aaron’s Furniture, and the Haines City Parks & Recreation department.  Ribs on the Ridge is a Florida Barbeque Association affiliated event and promises to be even better than last year’s 2010 event, which drew in eighty-seven competitors – amateur and professional – an between 10,000 and 15,000 people to the shores of Lake Eva.

Because Ribs on the Ridge is a sanctioned Florida Barbecue Association event, professional level competitors stand to win cash prizes in the categories of brisket, chicken, pork, and pork ribs. The top 10 winners in each category stand to win anywhere between $50 to $400 as well as bragging rights material in the form of trophies and ribbons.

Here’s a Few things you’ll see and experience at this year’s Ribs on the Ridge event…

• Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to professional teams
• Trophies will be awarded to amateur teams
• Competitions are open to everyone
• Kid’s Q division for ages 6-10 & 11-15
• Register for our Sauce or Dessert Competition to be held Friday, February 18th
• Live entertainment including local bands and Confederate Railroad at noon on Saturday
• Shop at the craft and food vendor booths
