Redneck Bar-B-Q at Lakeland Downtown Farmer’s Curb Market

I just spent the morning hanging out at the Lakeland Downtown Farmer’s Curb Market, and was pleasantly surprised to see a home-built, do it yourself Barbecue Pit Rig manned by Pete and Larry, proprietors of Redneck Barb-B-Q – a local small scale barbecue cooking team.  Pete and Larry know barbecue, and if you’re in the market for “no sauce needed” pulled pork on a tasty high-quality yeast roll  – then you need to see these guys.

Redneck BBQ - Lakeland Farmer's Curb Market

Standing in front of the double barrel barbecue rig Pete built and designed, I got the sense that these two guys have been at this for a while, and do barbecue because they love it.  After talking with them, I found I was correct. Turns out, Pete and Larry’s friendship goes back some 30 years, and has been based on their love of smoked barbecue for large crowds.

Now they’re bringing their skills to the masses, as a regular feature at the Downtown Lakeland Farmer’s Curb Market.

If you’re in the market for a quality catered barbecue spread, give them a call on Larry’s cell phone:  (863) 670-9144.

If you stop by and see them at the Farmer’s Market, tell them you learned about them here from Kevin at the Barbecue Smoker Site!
