From time to time on the BBQ Smoker Site, I highlight posts by other food bloggers. This post goes out to Swedish Mike, author of Freestyle Cookery.
Mike is a Swedish ex-pat living in the UK who loves to blog about his favorite foods. Some recent posts have covered Cold and Hot Smoked Duck Breast and a really awesome looking recipe for homemade Merguez Sausages (which I’ve not had since visiting Tunisia back in 1996!).
This bit from his Merguez Sausages post had me rolling!
The worst bit was probably getting the casing onto the spout, but with some patience and deep breathing I managed to figure out some kind of knack and got it done.
I did have a couple of hiccups where the sausage mixture did some funny things but all that I did then was to cut off the casing and re-tie it in both ends and keep going.
Mike’s posts date back to 2007, so I encourage you to visit his site and give them a read. He loves to receive comments on his writing, so don’t be shy!

Okay, so it’s not BBQ related, but Legoland Florida, Winter Haven’s long anticipated new theme park, opens tomorrow at 10 AM – beginning what I hope is a new era of fun, excitement, and prosperity for our fair city!
Like many of you, I grew up with a a few basic toys. I remember Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, Erector Sets, and my favorite – LEGO. There were basic LEGO, adventure sets, and simple machines with gears and motors. Now, kids and their parents and grandparents will be coming to Winter Haven, FL to visit a Legoland Theme Park that is the largest of its kind anywhere in the world!
Are you planning to visit Legoland Florida? If you are, or if you get there… share some of your impressions with us here!
